A flame is a personal attack sent through an electronic medium (like email or a forum). I do not mind that you don't agree with what I write. I do not mind that you have an opinion different from mine. I do mind when you make attacks about my character, about my state of mind, threats of bodily harm, verbal abuse, etc. Critique my stories. Do not critique me.
Opinion on Flames:
I feel that no one has the right to flame anyone else. I have a right to my opinion. You have a right to yours. I do not try and force my values on you, I ask that you do not try to force your values on me. I see nothing wrong with what I write or post on a site that I own and pay for. Heck, I can walk into any major book chain and point out books two to three times worse than what I have up. If you do not like reading about sex, violence, foul language, homosexuality, anthopormorphic sex, etc. then don't read it. I have warnings at the top of every one of my stories as well as ratings and warning for the links. I am not responsible if you are not mature enough to heed warnings.
Policy Towards Flames:
I have a three strike policy. The first time you flame me, I read it, laugh, and keep a copy of it for my records (yeah for 250mb storage space on hotmail!). The second time you flame me, I respond with an email asking you not to do it again, tell you that I no longer wish to recieve emails from you, and warn you that on the third offense I will contact your email provider. On the third flame, I will contact your email provider with a copy of the flames you have sent me and ask that your email account be terminated. Since most major (and minor) email providers have a policy about sending hate mail/flames and the fact that the state I live in as stalker laws, you will more than likely you will lose your email account.
